Day 8-11: Basel, Switzerland where I was born

The last 4 days I spend in Switzerland to join my youngest brother Nico at his Good Bye party with his friends. He is leaving to New Zealand tomorrow for additional 2 years of studies.
I took the train from Heidelberg to Basel (close to the German border), a nice railway all along the Black Forest on the left and the french mountains on the right side. Beautyfull, but I missed a 'tennis match' as Juan called it... they told us the result of Argentina vs. Serbia & Montenegro (6:0) in the train.

We didn't watch that much soccer in Switzerland, but we partied a lot and I met a lot of Nico's very nice swiss friends (Thank you guys, it was really cool being with you!!).

The 'main event' was the party on Saturday: A huge screen and a projector in the back yard, a table soccer and of course lots of drinks...
Unfortenately it started raining 30 minutes before the end of the match USA vs. Italy (1:1), but at least we didn't miss any of the 3 red cards. The party was a really good one, a lot of nice people, music and beer...9 o'clock in the morning we where the last ones goin' home.

After 2 hours sleep until noon the next event was allready scheduled: swimming down the Rhine river through the city. For me this is something really cool as in my home region more in the north you don't really wanna swimm in the Rhine anymore.
But as in Basel the water is pretty clear (and cold, too...) we jumped in with water proof bags and let us 'streaming down' around 1 kilometer through Basel.
After this cold refreshment the headache of the last night was totaly gone.
Later the evening I met my aunt and cousine from switzerland to another relaxed BBQ watching Brasil vs. Australia.

So, today it's Monday June 19th, by the way the birthday of my brother that we also celebrated.
And also, Switzerland was playing today vs. Togo. Of course Nico and I stayed in Switzerland for the match and the reward was 2 goals for Switzerland...

Now I am sitting again in the train to Heidelberg to spent the last night with my brother before he goes to the airport tomorrow morning. And of course it's again an old train with no power outlets, so I tried to get in the train's conference room. But this time the flirt with the train officer din't work out: 'No, sorry, you have to be three people for the conference room'....fu...bi...
It took me 5 minutes to find two other passengers with notebooks, so guess where I am having now a 'very important conference'... :-)
