Day 6: Germany vs. Poland and a US Marching Band |
|
This day started with work. As I am doing the user support for a german webpage I had more than 300 emails in my mailbox to read and reply.
So I missed the first two matches of the day (Spain vs. Ukraine 4:0 and Tunisia vs. Saudi Arabia 2:2). The match of the day was definitely Germany vs. Poland (1:0), Berlin was driving crazy the hours before. I met my friend Juliane in a outdoor café in Berlin Friedrichshain where Doreen, Anita and Kalle joined us later. The match was pretty exhausting for everybody. A million of chances and one goal for Germany in the last minute... Afterwards at midnight we found a small courtyard with an american marching band touring through Europe this summer. Around 20 musicians (trumpets, saxophones and percussionists), they really got the heat and everybody had a lot of fun dancing in a warm summernight. |
The difference between Europe and North America: Opel Corsa and a Cadillac. |
Very inviting: A bar in Berlin Kreuzberg. |
The Berlin Kreuzberg Firefighters watching Tunisia vs. Saudi Arabia (2:2). |
The 'Oberbaumbrücke', in the background (yellow) the Universal Music Group building. |
Evening sun over Berlin. |
Germany vs. Poland (1:0): Red card for Poland. |
21 party people: The MarchFourthMarchingBand from Portland, USA. |
