Day 15: Halftime in Hannover |
|
15 days of the worldcup 2006 are over now, the next 15 days are in front of us.
And it's getting interesting now: Today are the last matches of the first round, Go Switzerland tonight!!! Tomorrow is starting the KO-system, loosers have to go home and Germany will be the first one to proof their strength. Sitting in the train now to Hamburg and writing my diary I am happy to see my friend Evelyn tonight. She came to visit me last year in Montreal for 6 weeks in August and will be my host for the weekend. A couple of hours later: As my train was delayed and I had to switch trains in Hannover I decided to stay there for three hours and watch the match Ukraine vs. Tunesia in front of the train station, also because Switzerland was playing the same night in the city. And I tell you, Hannover downtown was Switzerland this afternoon...It was totaly crazy, I drank a lot of beer even before the match. 7pm, packed with a swiss flag on my right cheek I took the next train to Hamburg. Evelyn, Thomas and I went to a bar to watch the match Switzerland vs. South Korea, and as you know Switzerland did again! 2:0 and Switzerland is the group winner! Hopp Schwiiz again... |
